In order to comply with safety requirements under current laws, every worker, contractor, sub-trade or trades person in the home renovation and building industry are required to complete a FALL PROTECTION AWARNESS and WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) course and be able to produce proof of completion when requested by the Ministry of Labour and their inspectors through site visits or under investigation following a work place accident.

 

We are pleased to confirm that OBORNE CONTRACTING INC employees are required to complete these courses.

 

OBORNE CONTRACTING INC Managerial staff, Project Managers and Foreman are also required to complete CPR A+ AED (Automated External Defibrillator) First Aid Couse.

 

OBORNE CONTRACTING INC has implemented an Occupational Health and Safety Administrator to promote occupational health and safety within the organization and develop safer and healthier ways of working. This position also requires providing weekly “tool box talk” training topics for management, supervisors and workers on health and safety practices and legislation. The Administrator is to helping supervise the investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions and assisting with the rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries making sure they experience a satisfactory return to work. The position entails developing occupational health and safety systems, including policies, procedures and manuals; studying accident causes and recommending remedial action.

 

OBORNE CONTRACTING INC has also implemented an Occupational Health and Safety Officer to visit our sites on a regular basis to detect unsafe or unhealthy working conditions, identify hazards, ensure site saftey singage and boxes are present, assess risks to health and safety, and to ensure continual compliance with laws and regulations governing workplace safety.

 

The OBORNE CONTRACTING INC Occupational Health and Safety Administrator and Officer communicate frequently to report on the status of the occupational health and safety programs ensuring the safety of worksites.
